We are currently developing our Children and Young People's programmes and will keep you updated on when we are recruiting volunteers.

Some information below for those who may be interested.


The Commitment

  • The minimum commitment is one to two hours per week but can include extra time to prepare and collect
    materials or travel to and from the group.
  • These projects will run for 6 weeks - 12 weeks, depending on the project
  • Verbal will provide the materials.

As part of the programme, we collect data and feedback from the participants this helps inform our programmesgoing forward.  This includes:

  • Enrolment forms
  • Pre surveys
  • Parent / guardian consent form
  • Assessment forms from children and young people
  • Post surveys
  • Post programme evaluations
  • Weekly feedback collection 

All monitoring and evaluation paperwork will be provide by Verbal.

Training and support
All volunteers will receive a full training package to enable each volunteer to confidently deliver the programme.  Verbal will provide ongoing weekly support through the programme.
This includes:

  • Shared Reading Facilitation Training (2 half days)
  • E Learning
  • Enhanced Access NI check
  • Safeguarding NI (2 hours)
  • Observations for quality checks

Volunteer out of pocket expenses and travel will be covered, this will be agreed in advance with project trainer.
