In the transitional phase of mid-teens, many young individuals find themselves at crossroads, especially those considered on the edge of care or at risk. Often due to circumstances beyond their control, young people can feel marginalized and unheard.
Understanding the Challenges:
At Verbal, we recognise the unique challenges faced by young people aged 16 and above. The societal pressures, coupled with personal struggles, can sometimes overshadow their potential and aspirations. It's not just about being on the edge of care; it's about feeling on the edge of society, often silenced by circumstances that can be overwhelming.
Building Resilience and Capacity:
Our project activities are co-produced to foster resilience and enhance capacity. We aim to provide young people with the tools to reflect upon their lives, understand their emotions and channel them constructively. By teaching them how to manage their behaviour through positive coping strategies, we lay the foundation for long-term mental health and wellbeing.
Developing Core Skills for Life:
Emotional regulation is pivotal, especially in the tumultuous teenage years. Verbal's initiatives aim to strengthen this ability, helping young individuals handle life's ups and downs with balance and composure. Additionally, we emphasise the development of robust communication skills.
In a world where effective communication can make all the difference, our projects equip young people aged 16+ to articulate their feelings, concerns and aspirations, enabling them to address and overcome daily challenges.
AT VERBAL, WE BELIEVE IN THE POTENTIAL OF EVERY YOUNG INDIVIDUAL. THROUGH OUR TAILORED PROGRAMMESS, WE STRIVE TO AMPLIFY THEIR VOICES, ENSURING THEY'RE NOT JUST HEARD BUT ALSO EMPOWERED TO SHAPE THEIR FUTURES POSITIVELY.
